About the Artist

Sue Hewitt-Stubbs was born and brought up in Kenya, East Africa. Having an artistic flare but wanting to do something out of the mainstream, she decided to try her hand at glass engraving. Self taught, using a small rotary drill and adding fine detail by hand, her own style has developed over the years, specializing in Wildllife, Birds and Botany, (but doing anything from houses, boats, backyard and underwater scenes, the variety is endless).

After her outstanding exhibition held at the "Robert Glen Gallery" in Nairobi, her reputation grew and it wasn't long before she was being commissioned from both America and Europe.

In 2007 Sue moved from Kenya to Australia, and is now working for Natural History artist William T. Cooper replicating some of his works onto glass. These are now exhibited and for sale in the Tolga Woodwork Gallery on the Atherton Tablelands, and at the Studio 8 Glass Gallery at Fishery Falls, both in north Qld.

As with any originals, each piece of hand engraved glass is totally unique. For any commission enquiries or further information please don't hesitate to contact Sue.
